I’m Louisa Lyons, Chair of Joe’s Buddy Line Charity, and the proud sister of Joe. Dad, Mum and I set up the charity officially with the Charity Commission in January 2021. After Joe’s unexpected passing in August 2020, as a family we knew we needed to do something in Joe’s legacy.
We strongly believed in a proactive rather than reactive approach, helping young people understand their own mental health and how to support these individuals before a problem arises.
I work full-time as an Environmental Consultant, and in my free time, I enjoy doing Pilates, seeing my friends and listening to music. Joe and I always wanted a dog and as of a few months ago, I finally rescued a ball of fluff – he definitely keeps me busy now! Joe would have loved him.
I had the pleasure living with Joe in London for two years – they were the best two years of my life. Joe would always give me TV suggestions, tell me about the latest music I should listen to and we’d always chat about life – especially about the existence of aliens and the depths of space!
Joe was a genius in his own right – incredibly selfless, talented and cheeky! He was and continues to be loved by so many. Joe’s Buddy Line Charity is for Joe as he continues to support so many people – what an amazing legacy that is to have.
