Everyone Ask Twice: Building Stronger, Kinder School Communities

Since launching in Autumn 2025, Everyone Ask Twice – Joe’s Buddy Line’s whole‑school emotional wellbeing programme – has been making encouraging progress across four secondary schools in the South East. In just a short time, the programme is already reaching pupils, staff and parents, helping to strengthen connections and spark meaningful conversations about emotional wellbeing.

At its heart, Everyone Ask Twice is about connection. Every young person deserves to feel understood, supported and able to lead a fulfilled life. The programme brings schools, families and the wider community together to create a shared, whole‑school approach to emotional wellbeing – powered by partners who believe that every young person deserves the chance to thrive.

So far, the programme has begun its key aim of equipping the whole school community with the knowledge and confidence to support emotional wellbeing. Staff training sessions have been delivered, giving teachers and support staff the tools they need and the confidence to lead wellbeing sessions with pupils. Interactive workshops for parents have helped families better understand emotional wellbeing and how to support their young people at home. Alongside this, student sessions are being delivered that help pupils understand what emotional wellbeing means, how to look after their own emotional wellbeing, and how their feelings and actions can affect their overall wellbeing.

Early feedback from school staff has been really encouraging, highlighting the quality and usability of the materials provided. One member of staff shared:

“The staff resources were good for delivering to the students – these resources just feel like really good quality.”

As Everyone Ask Twice continues to roll out across schools, we’re proud of the positive steps already being taken. Together, we are creating spaces where emotional wellbeing is part of everyday school life, and where asking twice, and listening carefully, can truly make a difference.
